Abstract

Procedimiento para el tratamiento de sulfuros de hierro-cobre, para extraer contenidos en cobre y azufre elemental de los mismos, caracterizado porque comprende las etapas de (1) alimentar dichos sulfuros a una solución ácida de sulfato de cobre y reaccionar dichos sulfuros con dichas solución a una temperatura del orden de aproximadamente 90ºC a aproximadamente 180ºC, (2) separar la solución de sulfato ferroso del sulfuro de cobre simple insoluble; (3) oxidar e hidrolizar simultáneamente el sulfato ferroso, (4) separa los compuestos de hierro precipitados del ácido sulfúrico regenerado; (5) someter el sulfuro de cobre insoluble a una lixiviación oxidante, (6) descargar una mezcla de solución portadora de cobre, azufre elemental y sólidos residuales desde la lixiviación oxidante; y (7) recuperar los contenidos en cobre a partir de dicha solución portadora de cobre.
