Abstract

Método de tratar minerales de sulfuro que contengan hierro y metales no férreos que tengan una relación molar de azufre a hierro superior a la unidad con objeto de recuperar el azufre contenidohierro y metales no férreos de los mismosque incluye el perfeccionamiento que comprende la adición de hierro metálico al mineral sulfurado en una cantidad en exceso sobre el exceso de azufre asociado con el hierro y la calefacción del mineral sulfurado que contiene el hierro metálico un período de tiempo suficientemente largo para producir una mezcla de mineral sulfurado en la que la relación molar de azufre a hierro sea menor que la unidad y para hacer que el sulfuro de hierro contenido sea soluble en ácidos minerales diluídos.
