Abstract
Procedure for obtaining guanidines, of formula: **(See formula)** wherein A is such that it forms with the carbon and nitrogen atoms shown an imidazole, pyrazole, thiazole or 1,2,4-triazole ring; X is hydrogen, lower alkyl, lower alkylthio, or amino; b is at least 1; n is 2-5; R2 is hydrogen, an alkyl group containing 1 to 4 carbon atoms, aryl, or aralkyl; R3 is hydrogen, methyl, aralkyl, or amino; R2 and R3 can together form a 5-membered ring with adjacent carbon and nitrogen atoms, provided that when A is such that it forms an imidazole ring with the aforementioned carbon and nitrogen atoms, R2 and R3 cannot be both hydrogen, characterized in that an amine of formula: **(See formula)** Where A, X, b and n are defined as above, it is reacted with an S-methylisothiourea of general formula: **(See formula)** in which R2 and R3 have the meaning indicated above.
