Abstract

Procedure for obtaining acetylene, characterized in that it comprises carrying out: a) a thermal dissociation of liquid hydrocarbons at room temperature, b) a washing extraction of acetylene with a selective solvent for the solution of acetylene and obtaining an acetylene in crude that still contains hydrocarbons with more than 2 carbon atoms and, if necessary, water, c) cooling of the crude acetylene to between -10 and -30ºC approximately, with which the higher hydrocarbons with 5 or more carbon atoms condense widely, d) treatment of the crude, remaining purified acetylene in a counter-current scrubber at temperatures between approximately -20 and -40ºC until practically all the accompanying acetylene hydrocarbons are washed out with an organic washing liquid with a boiling point in a zone of 50 to 150ºC and a solidification point below -40ºC, e) liquid heating organic washing process loaded with the hydrocarbons extracted by washing, as well as acetylene at temperatures between approximately 0 and 40ºC and gas extraction of acetylene in a degasser, which is fed back to the crude acetylene, and f) separation of the liquid from loaded washing, free of acetylene, in a rectification column, in pure washing liquid as glue product and hydrocarbons extracted by washing as overhead product.
