Abstract

A wire connector for twinned wires comprises in combination a cup-shaped jacket member 11, as shown in Fig. 2, having wire-supporting surfaces 25, 26, 27 and 28, a ridge 29 between surfaces 26, 27, open grooves 17, 18 and transverse slots 19, 20 and a cap member 12, Fig. 3, forcefully insertable within jacket 11 and carrying sharp-edged separator plates 41, 42 in line with grooves 17, 18 and. resilient flat contact elements 43, 44 having slots in line with corresponding wire-supporting surfaces. An extended front 13 carrying indicia (16, Fig. 1) indicating the position of the contact elements has also wire-receiving-channels 14, 15 in alignment with the wire-supporting surfaces. The channels may have an interconnected double circle crosssection (Fig. 6, not shown) with opposing upper and lower ridges for endwise reception and straightening of the inserted wire-pair. Ridges. 54, 55, 56 and recesses 21, 22 are provided for. tight fastening of the cap and jacket. The structure may be laterally extended to accommodate additional wire-pairs, or may have a wire-receiving channel at either end or modified to provide a bridge connection.
