Abstract

An electrical connecting washer comprises a projection 5 having a cutting edge formed thereon, e.g. by knurling, ridging or serration, and two sealing rings 11 and 12 formed of resiliently compressible material, e.g. a nitrile material or rubber, and located in grooves in the washer. The sealing rings may be held in position by tangs cut out of the groove wall (Fig. 3, not shown). The washer is used to make an electrical connection to coated metal, the cutting edge cutting through the coating to the metal and the sealing rings sealing off the bared metal area.
