Non-toxic heat stable resinous compositions comprise 100 parts by weight of a vinyl halide resin and a stabilizer comprising (a) 0À01-1 part by weight of a zinc salt of a C 6-22 aliphatic monocarboxylic acid, (b) 0À01-1 part by weight of a calcium or magnesium salt of a C 6-22 aliphatic monocarboxylic acid, (c) 0À1-3 parts by weight of 2-phenylindole and (d) 0À01-0À5 part by weight of sorbitol, mannitol and trimethylol propane. The composition may also contain 0À01-0À2 part by weight of a trialkyl phenol, 3,31 - thiodipropionic acid and its alkyl esters, 4,41 - thiodibutyric acid and its alkyl esters or mixtures thereof as antioxidants as well as conventional additives such as dioctyl phthalate, dibutyl sebacate, tricresyl phosphate and octyl diphenyl phosphate.
