Abstract

A door frame of aluminium or plastic extrusion, such as for the entrance to a lift in the wall of a building and including head (Fig. 2) and jambs (Fig. 5), the head and jambs each including front and rear frame members 93, 92, Fig. 2, and 24, 22, Fig. 3 slidably interconnected to provide for variations in the required depth of said frame to suit the wall, the front frame members 93, 24 having lateral extensions 94, 28, outwardly directed so as to cover the junctions of the frame and the edges of the side and end wall end faces 89, 34 defining the aperture in the wall receiving the frame a pair of angle support members 10, 12, Fig. 5, on each side wall secured to the wall end faces the length thereof, one which members 10, 12 the front and rear jamb members 24, 22 are supported in spaced parallel relationship to the side wall end faces, as by angle elements 28, 38 adjustable by means of slots 44 or 46 and bolts 40 or 42 on the membets 10, 12, so as to allow for lateral adjustment within said aperture of the positions of the jambs relative to the side wall support members. The jamb front member comprises an extruded aluminium or rigid plastics element 52 spaced from the jamb front body member 24 so as to provide a slot therebetween to receive slidably the confronting edge of the jamb rear member 22.
