Abstract

Improvements in the interruption and reset mechanisms for thermal overvoltage devices, for use with a magnetic control contactor for electrical appliances, whose contactor has main contacts in the power supply line to the appliance, electromagnetically operated from an auxiliary circuit of energy; said mechanisms comprise an interrupting device, with interrupting contacts arranged for use in said circuit for its closing and opening and which, normally, remains in a first stable position; a bimetallic device operatively linked to said interrupting device for moving said interrupting contacts from said first position to a second, also stable position, in response to certain conditions of the current in the power supply line to the apparatus; a switch having a pushbutton forced to remain in a neutral position and which is manually operated to a position that originates the power supply to the apparatus or to another position that interrupts such power supply to the apparatus; and by a link of mechanical type that operatively relates said manually operated switch to said interruption device, moving the interrupting contacts of said second portion to said first position when the button is manually operated to said other position, but of the operation of said manual switch is independent of the operation of said interruption device, except when its interrupting contacts are in said second position.
