Abstract

A double lift open shed Jacquard has hooks 2 comprising a leg 13 having a bottom neb 11 and two nebs 17, 18 on a pivoted lever 15. In use a hole in a card does not move the hook so that either rising griffe 9 or 10 may engage a neb 17 or 18 and lift the hook to the open shed position. A blank in the card will then move the neb 11 clear of an open shed frame 12 so that the book may descend with the griffe. The action of the griffe on either neb 17, 18 will tilt the lever 15, against the action of a spring 19, so that the free neb 18, 17 is clear of the other rising griffe during descent of the falling griffe.
