Abstract

Alkaline metal cleaning agents in solid form, which are stable on storage and have little foaming power, contain fine grained caustic alkali with a grain size of less than 3 mm. diameter and a reaction product of propylene oxide with an aliphatic amine containing at least three reactive hydrogen atoms in the molecule, whose turbidity point lies between 10 and 60 C. The aliphatic amines may also contain hydroxyl groups. Other optional additives include orthophosphates, polymeric phosphates, silicates, soda, potash glutonates, sodium sulphate, and further alkali-stable wetting agents such as alkyl and alkylaryl sulphonates.
