Abstract

A cartridge fuse 33 is carried in a diametral passage in a disc-like insulating carrier 18 rotatably mounted in a detachable two-part insulating casing 1 between a " make " position (dotted lines) in which the cartridge is held in contact jaws 16, 17, which may be moulded in the casing, and a " break " position (full lines) in which the cartridge is free to move through an ejection window 24 in the casing to facilitate removal. The cartridge moves through the window by gravity, Fig. 2, or by a cam surface, (22b, Fig. 4) or by a spring (Fig. 5). Carrier 18 is rotatable by an integral lever 19, or by a stirrup-like lever (34, Fig. 6), or by a knob or lever (32, Fig. 7) on the side of the casing. A hole 35 in the casing allows inspection.
