Abstract
A process for the preparation of diamines, characterized in that it comprises treating a compound of the general formula ** (See formula) ** with a compound of the general formula ** (See formula) ** wherein one of the symbols X and Y represents halogen, while the other represents an amine group, which may carry a protective group, a lower alkyl group or a lower alkenyl group; A represents oxygen, = NH, = NOH or = N-lower alkyl; B represents pyridyl or R5-phenyl (wherein R5 has the meaning of hydrogen, halogen, trifluoromethyl, nitro, lower alkyl, lower alkylamino or lower alkoxy); R1 and R2 represent hydrogen, halogen, lower alkyl, trifluoromethyl, nitro, amino or lower alkoxy; Z represents a halogen atom or a group of the general formula ** (See formula) ** wherein R3 and R4 individually represent hydrogen, lower alkyl and, when taken together with the nitrogen atom, a monoheterocyclic ring structure including at most one more oxygen or nitrogen atom and at most one further substituent in the nucleus of the heterocyclic ring; and n is an integer value from 2 to 7 and, in the case that its value is 2, at least one of the symbols R3 and R4 is lower alkyl, treating a product obtained using a compound of formula III, wherein Z is halogen, with an amine of the general formula ** (See formula) ** wherein R3 and R4 have the meaning set forth in formula IV above, dissociate any protective group present and, if desired, subject the obtained product to one or more of the reaction steps comprising the lower alkylation or alkenylation lower of the anilino-nitrogen atom, the lower mono- or di-alkylation of the terminal amine group, the treatment with ammonia, hydroxylamine or a lower alkylamine, the change of a fluorine atom present as R5 by means of a lower alkylamine, the hydrolyzing a obtained imine, with a strong acid, and transforming the desired product into an acid addition salt.
