Abstract
Circuit breaker with magnetic arc extinction vacuum, characterized by comprising: a) a box subjected to a large internal vacuum, of tubular shape, provided with respective covers at its opposite longitudinal ends and whose tubular side surface is at least in part electrically insulating, b) a first contact located inside the box, c) a second contact connectable with said first contact and movable to stop said connection and give rise to a main arc gap between both contacts ordinarily centered on the length of said box. d) a first generally cup-shaped arch passageway provided with a base that ordinarily surrounds said first contact and a continuous tubular flank of the periphery of said base projecting from said base region widened and separating from said main arch opening toward one end of the box. e) a second arc passageway generally in the form of a cup provided with a base that ordinarily surrounds said second contact and a continuous tubular flank of the periphery of said base projecting from said base region widened and separating from said main arc hollow toward the other end of the box. f) electrical connection means of said first arc passage with said first contact, and said second arc passage with said second contact. g) a third arc passage normally electrically insulated with respect to the first and second arc passages formed with a central annular region surrounding said main arc hollow and with a pair of tubular portions respectively surrounding said tubular flanks of said first and second arc. second arc passages separately related to said tubular flanks to define secondary voids of annular configuration between said tubular portions and said tubular flanks, and h) the tubular flanks of said first and second arc passages terminate at points longitudinally spaced from the ends of the box towards which said flanks point, so that a space inside the box between said secondary arc gap and said end results where the residues of the arch can be freely blown.
