Abstract

A cover strip assembly for a channel 4 in a vehicle roof for the feet of a roof rack has a cover strip 1 with one or more openings 3 spaced along it, through which openings 3 the supporting feet of a roof load carrier or roof rack engage, to be secured in the channel 4. When the roof rack is dismounted the opening 3 in the cover strip 1 is closed by a slide 2, to prevent wind noise during travel. The slide 2 can move to and fro longitudinally in the cover strip 1. When it is closed its outer surface 22 is flush with the outer surface 23 of the cover strip 1 and when it is open it is hidden from the outside under the cover strip. Preferably the slide 2 is resiliently loaded outwards and locks in its closed position by moving outwardly to be held by steps 16, 17, 18, 19 around its edge and the edge of the opening 3. The slide is moved to its open position by pushing first inwards and then along.
