Abstract

1458939 Vehicle doors FORD MOTOR CO Ltd 17 June 1975 [11 Oct 1974] 25684/75 Heading B7J A motor vehicle includes a sliding door having an external wall 5 substantially flush with the exterior of the vehicle and an inner wall 4 carrying a guide rail 9, the guide rail co-operating with rollers 11 mounted at the rear edge of the door opening. The vehicle body is recessed at 13 to permit passage of the guide rails 9. The upper edges of the door and door frame carry co-operating guide members 16, 17, while a roller 14 at the lower edge of the door runs on a fixed guide rail 15. In a modification, the rear edges of the guide rails extend outwardly beyond the surface of the external wall, Fig. 6 (not shown).
