Abstract

The device comprises an electromagnet 3 to the movable armature 4 of which is integral a metal blade 9 that supports cantilever fashion, a shank 11 provided with a plate 12. One part of the edge of the said plate 12 is inserted in a slit 18 machined in one extremity of a rod 14 subjected to elastic means 17 and freely slidable in a hole in a plate 1 on the carriage of the machine. The other extremity of the rod 14 carries means 15a for selecting a jack 2. With the electromagnet 3 de-energized, the spring bias ensures that selection means 15a do not intercept a butt on the jack 2 but with the electromagnet 3 excited, the selection means 15 intercept the said butt 2a and this causes the jack 2 to be raised and subsequently sent into operation.
