Abstract

Un método de recuperación de un metal básico a partir de un mineral en el que el mineral se somete a una fase de pre-tratamiento seguido de un ciclo de lixiviación activa y en el que, en la fase de pre-tratamiento: 1. el mineral se pone en contacto con una solución durante una etapa de aglomeración o por irrigación; 2. el potencial de la solución en contacto con el mineral supera los 700 mV frente al electrodo normal de hidrógeno (ENH), en ausencia de microorganismos; 3. la concentración total de hierro de la solución en contacto con el mineral es > 0,1 g/l; 4. la adición de la solución se controla para lograr un contenido final de humedad del mineral en el intervalo del 2 al 25% en peso; 5. el pH de la solución en contacto con el mineral no supera pH 3,0; 6. la concentración de iones Cl- de la solución en contacto con el mineral está entre 130 y 230 g/l; y 7. el nivel de oxígeno disuelto en la solución en contacto con el mineral está por debajo de 1 mg/l.
