Abstract
Un método para calibrar un dispositivo de obtención de imágenes por ultrasonido (200) para un sistema de coordenadas de referencia, el método comprende: ubicar una pluralidad de varillas cilíndricas alargadas (505) en posiciones fijas dentro de una carcasa, las varillas tienen posiciones conocidas con respecto a un sistema de coordenadas de referencia (115), las varillas tienen un tamaño, forma, composición y/o características superficiales que causan reflexión difusa de una señal de ultrasonido independientemente del ángulo de incidencia de la señal con respecto a las varillas; obtener una pluralidad de imágenes en sección transversal (510) tomadas desde diferentes direcciones con respecto a las varillas, las imágenes en sección transversal comprenden representaciones en sección transversal (515) de las varillas; y calibrar el dispositivo de obtención de imágenes por ultrasonido en el sistema de coordenadas de referencia mediante (i) determinar los centros de las representaciones en sección transversal de las varillas dentro de las imágenes en sección transversal y (ii) relacionar las coordenadas de las varillas con el sistema de coordenadas de referencia basado en los centros determinados de las varillas.
