Abstract

Un proceso para la producción de un éster metílico de ácido graso (EMAG) útil para motor de combustión para su uso como biodiésel, el proceso comprende las etapas de: (i) recoger lechos de microalgas marinas de origen natural seleccionadas entre el grupo que consiste en Microspora sp. y Cladophora sp. y Chlorella variabilis cultivada y obtener la biomasa de algas; (ii) secar al sol la biomasa hasta un nivel de humedad residual del 5-10 %; (iii) pretratar la biomasa de la etapa (ii) mediante un chorro de vapor o un choque osmótico para romper la pared celular; (iv) extraer los lípidos de la biomasa de algas de la etapa (iii) utilizando hexano como disolventes u opcionalmente con diésel, donde el combustible es para usarse en forma de mezcla para obtener un aceite bruto; (v) eliminar el hexano mediante arrastre con aire y tratar el aceite bruto resultante con tierra de greda o tratar opcionalmente el extracto de la etapa (ii) directamente con tierra de greda para eliminar los fosfolípidos, pigmentos y otras impurezas; (vi) filtrar para eliminar los sólidos en suspensión y tratar el extracto oleoso de la etapa (v) adicionalmente para reducir el contenido de ácidos grasos libres (AGL), si se requiere para obtener aceite refinado; (vii) acometer la transesterificación catalizada por álcali del aceite refinado de la etapa (vi), separar los EMAG y purificarlos adicionalmente para obtener EMAG útiles para un motor de combustión.
