Abstract

Un proceso para la reducción de emisiones de NOx y SO3 a partir de la combustión de un combustible carbonáceo que contiene azufre en la zona de combustión (20) de un combustor (10), que comprende: someter a combustión un combustible carbonáceo que contiene azufre con un exceso total de oxígeno para formar gases de combustión que comprenden NOx, SO2 y SO3; introducir un agente de control de NOx que contiene nitrógeno en los gases de combustión en un punto aguas arriba de un catalizador de reducción catalítica selectiva (32) para la reducción de NOx; y tras el catalizador y antes del contacto con el dispositivo de calentamiento de aire (23) para el calentamiento del aire de combustión entrante, introducir hidróxido de magnesio en cantidades y con tamaños de gota y concentraciones eficaces para formar partículas con tamaño nanométrico en el efluente y reducir el SO3 provocado por la oxidación de SO2.
