Object of the invention

The purpose of this invention is an elevator footrest that slides with respect to a platform fixed to the elevator car when it comes into contact with an obstacle.

Background of the invention

In the state of the art, lift pads are known that prevent operators and passengers from falling into the elevator shaft in the event of the breakdown of the elevator or when the elevator is trapped between two floors.

A footrest of this type is that of the international patent application WO2005 / 092774 for an elevator footrest provided with studs that slide through vertical and parallel grooves of a platform parallel to said footboard and fixed to the elevator car.

The previous systems require linear supports present in said grooves to ensure their correct guidance.

This allows the guard to stop the cabin as a safety measure when it comes into contact with the bottom of the elevator shaft. However, when the car moves up again, and the footrest must occupy a rest position, there are occasions when it becomes clogged, due to the fact that the collision with the bottom of the elevator shaft has caused a misalignment of the studs with respect to the parallel grooves, which locks the footrest and causes this elevator's safety system to malfunction.

In addition, in the previous systems, it is necessary to include an electrical contact that informs the elevator safety system of the malfunction.

Description of the invention

The purpose of this invention is an elevator footrest that slides with respect to a platform fixed to the elevator car when it comes into contact with an obstacle.

The footrest comprises a bottom plate that is offset with respect to the platform fixed to the elevator car as a result of two studs integral to the platform through which two slots present in the plate slide.

The grooves present in the plate are formed in such a way that they allow the rotation of the plate with respect to at least one axis perpendicular to the plate, and which coincides with one of the studs of the platform, and as a result when the footrest enters contact with any obstacle located in a decentralized position with respect to the center of the lower plate, this lower plate rotates with respect to the bolt furthest from the obstacle, since there is no turning point due to the groove geometry, and thus prevents Let the foot guard imprison the obstacle.
