Abstract

The invention relates to a fixing system which can be used on the structure of the upper cover of an electrical household appliance, such as a washing machine or dishwasher, whereby the cover comprises an inverted bowl-shaped lid (1) and a frame (2). The invention is characterised in that the aforementioned two parts are fixed together by means of flanges (8) which are provided on the inner surface of the walls of the frame (2). Said flanges are positioned and locked in place in recesses (6) which are provided on the upper, free edge of the walls of the lid (1). The invention is further characterised in that a wedge (5) forms an integral part of the front wall of the lid (1) and is produced during the same moulding or injection phase. The aforementioned front wall (4') of the lid is provided with an external groove (7) in which flanges (12) are locked in place, said flanges being disposed on an inner partition wall of the frame (2). The outer wall of the frame comprises projecting elements (10) which are locked in place in the aforementioned wedge (5). The connection between the lid (1) and the frame (2) ensures that the volume defined by same remains perfectly sealed from the external environment, thereby preventing water or moisture from entering.
