Abstract

Un procedimiento para isomerizar una alimentación que contiene etilbenceno y xileno, cuyo procedimiento comprende las etapas de: (a) poner en contacto la alimentación bajo condiciones de conversión de etilbenceno con un primer componente catalítico en forma de partículas que comprende un tamiz molecular con un Indice de Restricción de 1-12, teniendo las partículas de dicho primer componente catalítico una relación de superficie a volumen de 31, 5 a menos de 78, 7 cm-1 (80 a menos de 200 pulgadas-1) y la etapa de contacto que convierte el etilbenceno en la alimentación para formar un producto empobrecido en etilbenceno; y después (b) poner en contacto el producto empobrecido en etilbenceno bajo condiciones de isomerización de xileno con un segundo componente catalítico.
