Abstract

Un método para fabricar una membrana cerámica densa y exenta de grietas, que consta de una película densa o recubrimiento sobre un sustrato poroso que transporta selectivamente oxígeno cuando se somete a un gradiente de presiones parciales de oxígeno, caracterizado por las siguientes etapas: a) añadir un formador de poros a un polvo para formar una mezcla, calentar dicha mezcla para separar el formador de poros y para sinterizar parcialmente la mezcla y así formar dicho sustrato poroso, b) preparar una dispersión coloidal o barbotina a partir de un polvo que tiene la misma composición química y la misma distribución de tamaño de partículas que el polvo utilizado en la etapa a), c) sumergir dicho sustrato en dicha suspensión o barbotina, con lo que la fase líquida de dicha barbotina es arrastrada a los poros del sustrato por acción capilar y una capa de partículas es depositada sobre la superficie del sustrato y ocurre una deposición adicional de partículas mientras el sustrato es sacado dela barbotina por una acción de recubrimiento por inmersión, d) sinterizar el sustrato con la capa de la etapa c) a una temperatura que da como resultado la formación de una película densa o recubrimiento soportado sobre dicho sustrato que retiene una porosidad abierta.
