Abstract

La invención tiene por objeto proporcionar un procedimiento para preparar el ácido acetidine-2-carboxílico y compuestos intermedios de éste, que son eficaces y económicos y adecuados para la producción industrial. La presente invención se refiere a un procedimiento para producir el ácido aetidine-2-carboxílico de la fórmula (5) siguiente, que incluye someter al ácido 4-oxo-2-azetidine carboxílico representado por la fórmula general (1) a una reducción con hidruro para dar el azetindine-2-etanol de fórmula (2), tratar al mismo con un agente amino protector para dar el N-protegido azetindine-2-metanol representado por la fórmula general (3), tratar a éste con un agente oxidante para dar el ácido N-protegido acetidine -2- carboxílico representado por la fórmula general (4) y, después someter al grupo amino protegido a la eliminación de este grupo.
