Abstract

La invención proporciona un procedimiento para la producción de ácido láctico y productos derivados del mismo a partir de un medio que contiene una sal de un metal alcalinotérreo de ácido láctico, que comprende las siguientes etapas: (a) reacción de una base conjugada de un metal alcalino que proviene de una etapa posterior con el medio para formar una sal lactato de metal alcalino soluble en agua y un compuesto básico del metal alcalinotérreo; (b) separación de la sal lactato álcali metálico soluble en agua y el compuesto básico del metal alcalinotérreo; (c) fraccionamiento del lactato de metal alcalino soluble en agua para formar un base conjugada de metal alcalino y un producto de ácido láctico, el cual se selecciona entre el grupo que consiste en ácido láctico, un derivado del mismo y combinaciones del mismo; (d) separación de la base conjugada de metal alcalino y el producto de ácido láctico; (e) reutilización de la base conjugada de metal alcalino o de un producto de la misma en la etapa (a); y (f) reutilización del compuesto básico de metal alcalinotérreo, separado en la etapa (b), o un producto del mismo para formar una sal metálica alcalinotérrea o ácido láctico.
