Abstract
Procedimiento para la obtención de ftalidas, en el que I. se reducen, sobre un cátodo en una célula electrolítica sin división, disueltos en un electrolito, ácido ftálico o derivados de ácido ftálico, en los que los grupos carboxi pueden estar substituidos por unidades que son derivables de grupos carboxi en una reacción de condensación, y en los que uno o más de los átomos de hidrógeno de la unidad o-fenilo puede estar substituido por restos inertes, II. cuando la conversión está avanzada de forma que la relación molar (M), constituida a partir de la proporción de ftalida y la suma de la proporción de ftalida y del ácido ftálico o de los derivados de ácido ftálico en el electrolito es de 0,8:1 hasta 0,995:1, se retira el electrolito de la célula electrolítica, III. tras procesado adicional por destilación del electrolito, se cristalizan las ftalidas a partir del electrolito, y se separan del líquido madre.
