DICHO METODO, CONSISTE EN ESTIMAR LA CANTIDAD DE ADENILATO QUINASA EXISTENTE EN LA MUESTRA, MEDIANTE SU CAPACIDAD DE CONVERSION DE ADENOSINA DIFOSFATO (ADP), EN ADENOSINA TRIFOSFATO (ATP), EN PRESENCIA DE IONES MAGNESIO AÑADIDOS, Y EN RELACION CON LA PRESENCIA Y/O CANTIDAD DE MICROORGANISMOS Y/O MATERIAL INTRACELULAR DE LOS MISMOS. DICHO METODO PROPORCIONA UNA SENSIBILIDAD MEJORADA RESPECTO A LOS ENSAYOS DE LUCIFERASA/LUCIFERINA CONOCIDOS. SE PROPORCIONAN ASIMISMO, REACTIVOS QUE INCLUYEN ADP PURIFICADO Y LUCIFERASA EXENTA DE ADENILATO QUINASA, JUNTO CON EL EQUIPAMIENTO NECESARIO QUE INCLUYE DICHOS REACTIVOS, Y UN APARATO PARA LA EJECUCION DEL METODO DE FORMA AUTOMATIZADA.
