Abstract

Horno de arco eléctrico, que comprende una estructura inferior (11) que contiene un baño de metal líquido (12) y una estructura superior suspendida definida por una pluralidad de paneles (16) que consiste en unos tubos de refrigeración (17), estando cubierta la estructura superior por el techo (18), incluyendo la estructura inferior un elemento de contención (15) fabricado en metal en la parte exterior, incluyendo el refractario interior un borde superior (11a) situado aproximadamente en la línea superior de la capa de escoria (14) presente por encima del bano de metal fundido (12), caracterizado en que cada panel (16) incluye por lo menos tres capas de tubos de refrigeración, una capa exterior (19a), una capa intermedia (19b) y una capa interior (19c), desarrollándose las capas de tubos de refrigeración verticalmente a lo largo de la pared lateral de dicha estructura superior suspendida por encima del borde refractario (11a) de la estructura inferior (11), y en que la distancia vertical entre los tubos de refrigeración (17) de dicha capa intermedia (19b) es mayor que la distancia vertical de los tubos de refrigeración (17) de dicha capa exterior (19a) y en que la distancia vertical entre los tubos de refrigeración (17) de dicha capa interior (19c) es mayor que la distancia vertical entre los tubos de refrigeración (17) de dicha capa intermedia (19b) para definir unas fisuras y espacios de un tamano que aumenta progresivamente desde el exterior del horno hacia su interior donde la escoria se fija por sí misma.
