Abstract

Derivados del ácido maleico sulfitados, que se obtienen por esterificado de los grupos hidroxilo libres en ésteres completos o parciales de la glicerina con ácidos hidroxigrasos saturados o insaturados, parcial o completamente con ácido maleico o con anhídrido del ácido maleico y adición de bisulfitos alcalinos a los dobles enlaces contenidos en el éster. Los derivados citados del ácido maleico facilitan el curtido al cromo y proporcionan al cuero una suavidad mejorada y un hidrofobado acrecentado y se caracterizan por una menor tendencia a la formación de exudados de grasa así como por una compatibilidad ecotoxicológica ventajosa.
