DICHOS ELASTOMEROS SE PREPARAN MEDIANTE EXTENSION DE LA CADENA AMINA DE UN PREPOLIMERO TERMINADO EN ISOCIANATO, PREPARADO MEDIANTE LA REACCION DE UN EXCESO ESTEQUIOMETRICO DE ISOCIANATO CON UN COMPONENTE DE POLIOL, QUE CONTIENE AL MENOS UN POLIOXIPROPILEN GLICOL CON UN GRADO DE INSATURACION ULTRA-BAJO, INFERIOR A APROX. 0,010 MEQ/G Y UN PESO MOLECULAR SUPERIOR A APROX. 1.500 DA. DICHO POLIOXIPROPILEN GLICOL SE PUEDE MEZCLAR CON UN POLITETRA METILEN ETER GLICOL Y/O CON UN DIOL DE PESO MOLECULAR BAJO, PARA FORMAR EL COMPONENTE DE POLIOL. EN AUSENCIA DE DIOL DE PESO MOLECULAR BAJO, EL POLIOXIPROPILEN GLICOL DE PESO MOLECULAR ULTRA-BAJO Y EL COMPONENTE DE POLIOL, DEBEN DE TENER PESOS MOLECULARES DE AL MENOS 2.500 DA Y AL MENOS 2.000 DA, RESPECTIVAMENTE.
