LOS PAQUETES DE DATOS SE CONMUTAN INICIALMENTE EN PAQUETES A TRAVES DE UNA RED DE FORMACION DE PAQUETES A UN SEGUNDO CONMUTADOR. CUANDO SE RECIBE UNA SEÑAL DE CONTROL CORRESPONDIENTE, SE REALIZA UNA CONEXION POR LINEA DEL PRIMER AL SEGUNDO CONMUTADOR, TRANSMITIENDOSE ENTONCES LOS DATOS A TRAVES DE DICHA LINEA. COMO OPCION, PUEDE EFECTUARSE OTRO CAMBIO EN LA TRANSMISION POR CONMUTACION DE PAQUETES.
