Abstract

Motor de combustión interna de rotor oscilante. Esta nueva concepción de motor de combustión interna sustituye ventajosamente a los motores convencionales de émbolo actuales, ya que, a igualdad de prestaciones de servicio y de potencia consigue reducciones muy importantes de peso y de costo del motor. El concepto de Motor de Rotor Oscilante es aplicable a la sustitución de cualquier motor alternativo de número par de cilindros, e independientemente de cualquier aplicación a que se destine el motor. Las transformaciones termodinámicas y los intercambios energéticos que realiza éste tipo de motor son prácticamente idénticas a las del motor de émbolo equiparable en potencia; sin embargo, su composición y funcionamiento mecánico son muy diferentes. El Motor de Rotor Oscilante está constituido por una carcasa resistente en cuyo interior ajusta un rotor provisto de aletas, dotado de movimiento angular oscilatorio a través de un mecanismo de brazo-biela-manivela, acoplado al eje de potencia o cigüeñal. Las aletas del rotor dividen el hueco que forma la carcasa en recintos cerrados deformables, que se comportan como los cilindros de un motor alternativo convencional, actuando las caras de las aletas igual que las superficies de los émbolos en el motor alternativo.
