Abstract

Procedimiento de inactivación de genes que codifican para enzimas del catabolismo de fenilacetato, plásmidos que intervienen y cepas transformadas con los mismos. El procedimiento se aplica preferentemente al gen phacA de A. nidulans y al gen pahA de P. chrysogenum, genes que codifican respectivamente para enzimas competidoras por este sustrato con las enzimas biosintéticas de penicilina. La no expresión de estas enzimas favorece la síntesis de este antibiótico, incrementando su producción, con una demanda de fenilacetato menor por unidad de cultivo.
