LA INVENCION SE REFIERE A UN PROCESO PARA INACTIVAR VIRUS EN LA SANGRE Y EN PRODUCTOS SANGUINEOS EN QUE TINTES DE FENOTIAZINA SE AÑADEN A LAS SOLUCIONES O SUSPENSIONES, QUE SE IRRADIAN DESPUES CON LUZ. EL USO DE UNA CONCENTRACION MUY PEQUEÑA DE TINTES DE FENOTIAZINA EVITA QUE SE PRODUZCAN EFECTOS ADVERSOS EN LAS PROTEINAS DEL PLASMA. LA INACTIVACION SE EFECTUA MEDIANTE LA IRRADIACION INMEDIATA DE LA BOLSITA CON SANGRE. DESPUES DE LA IRRADIACION, LOS TINTES SE PUEDEN VOLVER A SEPARAR DE LA SANGRE HACIENDO PASAR LA SANGRE POR AGENTES ABSORBENTES.
