EL POTENCIAL, COMO MEDIDA PARA UN ELECTRODO DE CALOMELANOS STANDARD, ES PERMITIDO PARA ALCANZAR UN NIVEL NEGATIVO O REDUCTOR. EL OXIGENO ES AÑADIDO A LA SOLUCION ACUOSA EN UNA TASA QUE MANTENGA EL POTENCIAL NEGATIVO PARA FACILITAR LA CONVERSION DEL NIQUEL ELEMENTAL EN HIDROXIDO DE NIQUEL.
