LAS ALEACIONES LIQUIDAS PUEDEN COMPRENDER PARTICULAS SOLIDAS EN LA COLADA DE TAMAÑO Y FORMA VARIADAS DE MANERA A REALIZAR COMPUESTOS DE MATRIZ METALICA TRAS LA SOLIDIFICACION. ESTE PROCESO DE MOLDEO DE CULATAS COMPUESTAS COMPRENDE VARIAS CAPAS SUCESIVAS (I) CONSTITUIDAS POR AL MENOS DOS ALEACIONES DIFERENTES SE CARACTERIZA EN QUE CONSISTE EN COLAR EN LA CAVIDAD DE UN MOLDE (1,2) POR UN SISTEMA DE ALIMENTACION (4,5), CADA CAPA DE ALEACION (I-1) (I MAYOR O IGUAL A 2) CON TIEMPOS DE ESPERA (TA) ENTRE FIN DE COLADA DE LA CAPA (I-1) E INICIO DE LA CAPA I, DE MANERA QUE LA CAPA (I-1) CONTENGA ENTRE 50 Y 100% (Y PREFERENTEMENTE 70 A 100%) DE FRACCION SOLIDA EN SU PARTE INFERIOR Y 0 A 80% (Y PREFERENTEMENTE 0 A 40%) DE FRACCION SOLIDA EN LA PARTE SUPERIOR (ZONA DE INTERFASE) DURANTE LA INTRODUCCION DE LA ALEACION I.
