EL METODO TIENE UNA PRIMERA FASE EN QUE SE ANALIZA EL NIVEL DE RELLENO DE LA MEMORIA DE SALIDA (7) DEL COMPRESOR DE VIDEO (6), OBTENIENDOSE EL NUMERO DE LOS COMANDOS DE LECTURA Y ESCRITURA HECHOS EN DICHA MEMORIA DE SALIDA Y CALCULANDO SU VARIACION EN EL RELLENO. EN UNA SEGUNDA FASE, SE PROCESA LA INFORMACION REFERENTE AL RELLENO DE LA MEMORIA DE SALIDA, DETERMINANDO A PARTIR DEL ULTIMO DATO Y DE OTRO DATO, LOS NUEVOS PARAMETROS ESTADISTICOS QUE CONDICIONAN EL FUNCIONAMIENTO DEL COMPRESOR DE VIDEO Y QUE SON ENVIADOS A ESTE ULTIMO EN UNA TERCERA FASE.
