Abstract

Process for obtaining N-N'-substituted iminooxazolines of general formula (I) in which R1, R2, R3 and R4 represent any organic groups characterized in that it comprises the electrochemical reduction of monoiminoketones with imidoyl dihalides subjecting an electrolytic cell equipped with at least an anode and a cathode to an electric potential in the presence of a solvent- electrolyte system such as dimethyl formamide -lithium perchlorate. Advantageously the electrolytic cell is divided into two anode and cathode compartments separated by a porous membrane. The process is also characterized in that carbon, graphite, copper, palladium, stainless steel, silver, chromium, nickel, lead, gold, metal alloys, mercury and platinum can be used as electrodes, and the electric potential can be applied with respect to a reference electrode such as a saturated calomel electrode. The products obtained have applications in organic syntheses and in obtaining compositions with therapeutic activity.
