Abstract

Procedure for obtaining isocyanides.Whose isocyanides correspond to general formula (I), where R represents any organic group. It is characterised by the fact that it includes an electrochemical reduction of solutions of the corresponding imidoyl dihalides with general formula (II), where R has the aforementioned meaning and X is a halide. Said electrochemical reduction is performed by subjecting an electrolytic cell with at least one anode and a cathode to an electric potential in the presence of a suitable solvent-electrolyte system, such as lithium perchlorate dimethylformamide and as electrodes, carbon, graphite, copper, palladium, stainless steel, silver, chromium, nickel, lead, gold as well as metal alloys and preferably mercury as a cathode and platinum as an anode.
