EL PROCESO CONSISTE EN DOS PASOS: 1) UN PASO DE CLORURACION EN QUE EL HCL SE PONE EN CONTACTO CON EL CATALIZADOR (1) A UNA TEMPERATURA ELEVADA, CONVIRTIENDO EL OXIDO METALICO DE TRANSICION EN UN CLORURO METALICO DE TRANSICION CON ELIMINACION DEL AGUA; Y 2) UN PASO DE OXIDACION EN QUE EL CLORURO METALICO DE TRANSICION PRODUCIDO EN EL PRIMER PASO SE PONE EN CONTACTO CON UNA FUENTE DE OXIGENO A UNA TEMPERATURA DE AL MENOS 300 C PERO MENOR DE 400 C Y LO SUFICIENTEMENTE ALTA COMO PARA QUE EL CL SUB 2 SEA ENVUELTO Y EL CLORURO METALICO DE TRANSICION SEA RECONVERTIDO A UN OXIDO METALICO TRANSICIONAL.
