PROCEDIMIENTO PARA LA ELIMINACION DE CROMO DE LAS AGUAS RESIDUALES DE TENERIAS. EL PROCEDIMIENTO CONSISTE EN LA PRECIPITACION DEL CR(III) MEDIANTE HIDROXIDO DE MAGNESIO PERO CON LA PARTICULARIDAD DE QUE LA SOLUCION CONTENIENDO EL CROMO SE AÑADE LENTAMENTE Y DE FORMA CONTINUA SOBRE OTRA SOLUCION, QUE SE MANTIENE A UNA TEMPERATURA SUPERIOR A 55 C (PREFERENTEMENTE 60 C), A LA QUE TAMBIEN SE AÑADE DE FORMA CONTINUA EL HIDROXIDO (O MEJOR EL OXIDO) DE MAGNESIO O UNA MEZCLA DE ESTE PRODUCTO E HIDROXIDO SODICO. ESTA OPERACION SE REALIZA EN UN REACTOR COMPARTIMENTADO EN EL QUE EL TIEMPO DE RESIDENCIA DE LA SOLUCION EN CADA UNO DE LOS COMPARTIMENTOS ES DE 2 A 4 HORAS, DEPENDIENDO DEL CONTENIDO DE COMPLEJANTES DEL CR(III) EN LA SOLUCION A TRATAR. LA PULPA QUE SALE DEL REACTOR PASA A UN DECANTADOR CUYO REBOSE ES LA SOLUCION DEPURADA. EL PRODUCTO ESPESO PUEDE LLEVARSE A UN REACTOR DONDE MEDIANTE ACIDO SULFURICO SE REDISUELVE PARA OBTENER UNA SOLUCION ACIDA QUE CONVENIENTEMENTE NEUTRALIZADA PUEDE VOLVERA EMPLEARSE EN LA PROPIA TENERIA.
