Abstract
Improvements made to patent of invention 9002160 relating to a process for obtaining iron oxides through a solvent extraction process. Comprises the removal of iron III present in acid solutions of zinc sulphate obtained in the hot acid treatment of neutral wastes from the wet extraction of zinc, in which the acid solution which has to be extracted can have a free sulphuric acid content between pH1 and 100 g/l, and preferably a pH between 0.05 and 1, the extraction being capable of being performed at any temperature between 0 degree C and the boiling point of the solutions, and preferably at temperatures between 55 and 65 degree C.
