Abstract

Process and device for producing a laminated material for sliding elements with a sliding layer consisting of an alloy in the form of a metallurgical two- or more component system with immiscibility gaps. The sliding layer is continuously cast from the alloy and cooled immediately after casting in a continuous pass at a cooling rate sufficient to prevent the growth of particles of the immiscible metallurgical components to particle sizes greater than 0.01 to 1 mu m, preferably < 1 mu m. To this end, a film can be cast from an alloy and quenched at a high cooling rate. This film is then joined to the substrate which forms the carrier layer, by means of a joining process, preferably using a laser beam. The sliding layer can also be cast from the alloy onto said substrate in one or more steps. Said substrate itself may consist of a strip consisting of a steel backing and an intermediate layer of a bearing metal with good emergency running properties. The following metallurgical two- or more component systems with immiscibility gaps can be cast to form sliding layers: AlPb, AlSn, AlBi, AlSb, CrPb, CrSn, MnPb, FePb, CoPb, NiPb, CuPb and PbZn.
