Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a calender apparatus extremely simple in plan by positioning the vertical axial lines of two first calender rolls and the vertical axial line of a third calender roll on the same plane, pref. an almost horizontal surface. CONSTITUTION: The vertical axial line of a calender roll 3 second from the last is fixed and the vertical axial lines of calender rolls 1,2 are positioned on the same plane, pref., an almost horizontal surface and the calender rolls can be moved only in the direction parallel to those axial lines within the plane shown by an arrow F1 and the vertical axial line of other calender roll 4 is moved within the plane almost vertical to the plane shown by an arrow F2. The vertical axial line of the single calender roll 4 not positioned on the almost horizontal surface can be additionally adjusted to an oblique direction in parallel to the plane shown by an arrow F3. As a result, by altering the setting of the energizing of the calender roll 4, the thickness uniformity of a rolled product can be easily adjusted.
