Abstract

PURPOSE: To keep the length of a thread part on a storage drum substantially constant by forming a second device for detecting the length of a thread part drawn out from a storage drum also as a thread turning angle measuring device disposed on the storage drum. CONSTITUTION: A thread feeder F1 includes a first and a second devices 22, 23 as a thread turning angle measuring device for a thread part taken up on a storage drum 6a and a delivered thread part, and a third device 24 for detecting the length of a thread existing on the storage drum 6a. The first device 11 counts output signals of a take-up fingers 15, 16 driving motor 25. The second device 23 is also a counter, and the third device 24 measures the length of the thread part from a difference in count value between both counters. According to the measurement value, a control device 26 controls the rotation of the driving motor 25. Thus, the thread part on the storage drum can be kept substantially constant.
