Abstract

The invention relates to an apparatus for delivering a thread to a textile machine. The apparatus contains a storage drum (6a) for the intermediate storage of thread parts as a result of the winding of the thread onto the storage drum and as a result of the unwinding of the thread from the storage drum; a first device (22), designed as a thread-rotation angle measuring device and assigned to the storage drum, for determining the length of thread parts wound onto the storage drum; a second device (23), likewise designed as a thread-rotation angle measuring device and assigned to the storage drum, for determining the length of the thread parts drawn off from the storage drum; and a third device (24), connected to the first and second device, for determining the length of the thread parts, located in each case on the storage drum, by a comparison of the lengths of the wound and unwound thread parts (Figure 4). <IMAGE>
