Abstract

A device (15, 16) is designed to break off or sever a strand (11) of textile fibres when the collecting tubs (13) for the said fibres are filled and comprises, at the end of a strand conveyor (10), a claw or closable jaw (15) for grasping or gripping the strand (11) without breaking the fibres and clamping means (16, 21) for holding the strand (11) while the claw is displaced e.g. by a piston cylinder (19) to sever the strand (11).
