Abstract

A housing (1) has an inclined perforated bottom (5) with a charging chute (9) above its upper edge (8). The lower part of the housing (1) has an cutlet (11) for a coarse fraction. The upper part has at least one pipe (12) for discharging a gas flow carrying a fine fraction. Overlying the bottom (5) is at least one grid (13) arranged across the travel path of the ascending gas flow to block the lateral flow area of the housing (1). Above the grid(s) (13) the housing (1) is internally vertically partitioned (2), each vertical flow passage including projecting vanes (4) which enhance the separation effect. Air flow is created by a fan and creates a fluidised bead on each grid (13).
